Our curriculum team has been researching best practices for academic and artistic training at Academy of the Arts for several years. Several veteran educators and school administrators have worked together to develop academic curriculum models that align with Illinois Common Core State Standards with a focus on student-driven learning and the application of knowledge to real world situations to develop a deep conceptual understanding. Our team also has arts integration specialists that understand the unique learning styles of young artists. Students will be assessed throughout their academic journey to ensure that they are on track for college and career readiness.
The State of Illinois does not accredit any non-public institutions. However, they do offer recognition which can be applied for in the first year of full-time students. We will be applying for recognition in Fall 2023. We will also be applying for accreditation from the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). Our day school will include all standard curriculum to ensure that students are prepared for graduation and ready for college/post-secondary studies.
We have a targeted minimum number of students that we must reach with our application process to open our Day School. While we anticipate Fall 2023 for the Pilot Program, this is subject to change pending enrollment.
